MOVIE REFERENCE:

Hellraiser (1987)

The story of a man who gives himself over to the Cenobites, a race of extreme sadomasochists that live in a realm of Hell. 

I found the film entertaining, and visually pleasing considering it's limited settings. I may watch the second installment to see how the Hell, the home of the Cenobites is visually portrayed. 

I really liked the design of the Cenobites (Pinhead is somewhat of a cult icon), and particularly found the application of black, tight fitting clothing relative to fetish or BDSM clothing - which has some roots in the gothic style movement, primarily cybergoth:

The scenes featuring the Cenobites were the lightest lit scenes in the film - despite it's super dark subject matter and sinister characters. I will experiment with lighting in my environments, as I think this could have super interesting results.
